Charlotte Moss new Elsie pattern is a seasonal chameleon. In the summer, this treillage design is a hint of the garden without being as obvious as flowers on your plate. And in the winter, one sprig of holly for garnish and it is a modern Christmas pattern without the partridge. Moss, the interior designer gone product, has just hooked up with Pickard for her collection. Pickard also produces the plates for Camp David, so you know this is quality china. Dishwasher-and-microwave-safe, it is for holiday and everyday.

Different flowers are suited for different vases. Lilies look best when they lean; roses display better when they splay; wild flowers need shorter vessels; sunflowers should stand tall. You could buy a vase for every variety or just try Surface. Designer Achim Haigis took all of these factors into consideration and designed a porcelain piece that adapts. Instead of having one flat surface to act as a base, it has a series of peaks and plateaus so you can chose the angle it rests at. Play around with the look that best accents your blooms.

To appease my fickle decorating sense, I have a solid navy sofa. Since my 490-square-foot New York apartment doesn’t give me much room for impulse buys, my plain sofa is my outlet for all my colorful finds. Reupholstering on a regular basis is out of the question so I swap out my pillows and throws whenever I need a fresh fix. The Tatami throw from Designers Guild is my latest splurge. Made of lambs wool and cotton, its exactly the cuddle buddy Ive been looking for. And luckily for me, it’s reversible—so when my living room needs a change, Ill just give it a flip.
For pattern and color indulgences, Designers Guild is like my candy store. In addition to the Tatami blanket, it has introduced Tasket Chartreuse and Ikebana Turquoise; when my credit card clears, Ill be back.
