I was going through my pretty file the other day and found page 53 from last summer’s VivaTerra catalog. The tattered sheet displayed their typically eco-chic products, but I doodled three stars (doodle star= totally love) by these Recycled Glass Balloon Vases. They are beautiful. Their lopsided form has the look of a massive soap bubble on the verge of popping. They have such character–and a green one at that. Add a tall stem flower and you’ll have the perfect hall display. I guess I was saving them for a rainy blog day, but weather or not, today they will be posted!

JDerian-paperweights.jpg

I always wanted a piece of John Derian decoupage, but never actually bought one because each was a blooming fortune! Every time I saw the luster, the imagery and the detail of his urns and platters, I was tempted to empty out my bank account but somehow managed to resist this disastrous urge. Thankfully, I won’t have to curb my enthusiasm anymore. His new collection of dome paperweights features pieces for only $60 each. At that price, I can afford to indulge my fancy.

Summer is nearly over and we’ve seen enough hammocks, tree lanterns, and BBQ tongs to last us through next June, but we couldn’t resist this one last coastal accessory. The Marseilles Knot Door Stopper is too charming to be deemed a summer disposable. Though it may be time to put away the seashell placemats, this jute nautical knot can be kept out year round. With its large loop and goes-with-anything color, this stopper is easy to move and blend around and the house.

Your alarm is the first thing you look at in the morningso it better be cute. I like my clocks simple, timeless, cordless and in a nickel plated brasseven better. These Roman numeral faces tell time with one double AA battery so needless to say, they have bells but no whistles.
It is just thing I want to wake up next to.
