I try to spend in proportion to a thing’s use. Maybe I don’t wear my fuchsia snakeskin shoes as often as I promised myself (to justify the $300 I spent), but I try to follow this spending rule when I can. Like with bedding, daily use totally justifies extravagance. Kearsley bedding, pricey as it may be, is worth it. Founder and designer Heather Wolf has literally been around the world selecting the finest cashmere, down, and cotton to have them made in Italy and hand-embroidered with impeccable detail. This was the kind of stuff you’d only find in boutiques in the Hamptons and Malibu, but as of recently, many items are available online.
